Cal State L.A. named among top college in Diverse ‘Top 100’

Los Angeles, CA — California State University, Los Angeles was recently listed #40 in Diverse Issues in Higher Education‘s “Top 100,” a national list of colleges and universities that conferred the most undergraduate degrees to minority students in 2011-2012, based on data from the U.S. Department of Education.

In a separate listing by disciplines, Cal State L.A. was also listed as a top-ranking institution in awarding bachelor’s degrees in education to Asian American and Hispanic students; in homeland security, law enforcement and related protective services to Hispanic students; in public administration and social service professions to Asian American and Hispanic students and total minority combined; in registered nursing, nursing administration, nursing research, and clinical nursing to Asian American students; in English language and literature to Hispanic students; and in business administration, management and operations to Asian American and Hispanic students and total minority combined.

Cal State L.A. is also ranked highly among institutions in California awarding bachelor’s degrees in all disciplines combined to Asian American and Hispanic students.

The Diverse magazine lists are drawn from information collected by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics.
