LEAD California, a state-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing civic and community engagement, is serving a one-year residency on the campus of Cal State LA.

LEAD California, formerly called California Campus Compact, will continue its leadership in supporting state, regional and national civic engagement in higher education.

As part of its on-campus residency, LEAD California is offering resources, expertise, training and connections to Cal State LA faculty, staff and administrators in order to promote civic engagement that brings about a healthy, just and democratic society.

Cal State LA’s commitment to uplifting and transforming the economies and social well-being of communities across the region led to an anchor institution designation by the  Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities.

Since its founding in 1988, the nonprofit organization builds strategic partnerships with education, nonprofit, legislative, corporate and foundation representatives to advance civic engagement in California.
