Cal State LA celebrates the Class of 2024 at Commencement
More than 5,700 Golden Eagles became proud Cal State LA alumni during Commencement 2024. The ceremonies were held May 20-21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Graduating students had their names called out as they crossed the stage in front of their family and friends during the festivities. Cal State LA President Berenecea Johnson Eanes congratulated the Class of 2024, and shared her belief that education is one inheritance that the graduates will take with them wherever they want to go. “Every time you invest in yourself and your education, you are planting a seed for the future, for your family, for your cousin, for anybody that you may trust or love.” In a campus letter, she wrote: “It was particularly moving to see that almost all those in our graduating class are first-generation students. These firsts are changing their own lives and the trajectory of their descendants for generations to come.” Read about some of the exemplary graduates in the Class of 2024 on the Student Success page.
